Product Description

Born in a small Wisconsin town on the edge of the Great North Woods, Georgia O’Keeffe (1887–1986) was the first native-born female painter to win respect from American critics and the American public. She began to achieve domestic and international fame with her stunning, large-format flower paintings of the mid-1920s. In 1929 she traveled to New Mexico, where she was awed by the light and the expansiveness of her surroundings. Southwestern imagery began to appear beside her abstracts and vast, velvety pansies and poppies. She eventually made her home in Abiquiu, New Mexico.

A dozen powerful O’Keeffe images grace this wall calendar: The White Calico Flower, Oriental Poppies, Calla Lily on Grey, Poppies, Pansy, Flower Abstraction, Red Canna, A Sunflower from Maggie, White Rose with Larkspur No. II, 2 Yellow Leaves, Jimson Weed, and Datura and Pedernal.
