Romare Bearden 2010 Wall Calendar

Romare Bearden (American, 1911–1988) was best known for his richly textured collages examining African American culture. But during his prolific and distinguished career he explored many subjects and worked in many mediums—including the printmaking featured here. This calendar’s twelve images—Jazz II, Salome (John the Baptist), Carolina Blue, Homage to Mary Lou (Piano Lesson), The Lantern, Pepper Jelly Lady, In the Garden, The Lamp, Jammin’ at the Savoy, Sorcerer’s Village, The Train, and Two Worlds—are from the 2010 traveling exhibition “From Process to Print: Graphic Works by Romare Bearden,” organized by the Romare Bearden Foundation
